Like many young people, 25 year-old Alando was negatively affected by the pandemic. He lost his livelihood as a lighting technician in live events due to the impact of covid on the industry. He had always wanted to break into the media but had no idea where to begin or even what role to pursue. 

With a keen interest in video editing and a recommendation from a friend about the MAMA Youth Project, Alando embarked on the life changing training programme culminating in a one-year placement as a  Digital Intern at Lime Pictures. 

He has since established a successful freelance career as an Editor and Content Producer and tells us here how he’ll be forever grateful for MAMA Youth's integral part in his journey. Watch his story below!
