Trusts and Foundations

Your foundation's support can have a profound impact on our initiatives.

"MAMA Youth gave me the confidence as a deaf person to realise that I could work in the industry... Support MAMA Youth to help someone like me because without them I wouldn’t be in the industry and have a career that has set me up for life."

- Saad Chaudhry, MYP Alumni & Assistant Production Accountant/Accounts Cashier, MGM.

There are 3 ways in which you can empower the MAMA Youth Project to transform the lives of young people:

1. Unrestricted Funding

  • Flexibility: Unrestricted funds offer flexibility as they can be allocated to the areas of greatest need or emerging priorities. This adaptability allows us to respond quickly to unforeseen challenges or seize unexpected opportunities.
  • Innovation and Risk-Taking: Unrestricted funding provides the freedom to experiment, innovate, and take calculated risks. This is essential for finding effective solutions to complex problems and driving positive change.
  • Capacity Building: Unrestricted funds support capacity building, including staff training, infrastructure development, and improving internal systems. This contributes to the organisation's long-term sustainability and effectiveness.
  • Program Sustainability: While project-specific funding is crucial for implementing targeted initiatives, unrestricted funds ensure the organisation's overall sustainability. They help cover core operational costs, ensuring that programs can continue even in the absence of project-specific funding.
  • Organisational Resilience: Unrestricted funds contribute to organisational resilience by providing a financial cushion. This resilience is particularly important during economic downturns, emergencies, or when facing unexpected challenges.

In summary, unrestricted funding is the lifeblood of the MAMA Youth Project’s organisational sustainability and adaptability. It will empower us to navigate uncertainties, invest in growth, and pursue our mission with a long-term perspective.

2. The 8-Week Bespoke Media Training

MAMA Youth Project will support disadvantaged and marginalised young people with the skills and experience that will help them to secure long-term and fulfilling employment in the TV and media industry. Each year we aim to run 3 x 8-week intensive bespoke media training courses for young people aged 18-30 years old.

The aim is to enable them to achieve employment and self-sustainability. Participants will embark on our free intensive 8-week training course (with an allowance for travel and lunch). Training takes place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., giving young people a foundation and introduction to a working environment.

Upon completion, participants will receive 6 months of follow-up support into employment and will also become a part of our talent pool, a successful source of recruitment for employers within the broadcast media industry.

3. The 3-Day Employability Sessions

Our 3-day employability sessions are a lighter-touch version of our wider 8-week training. Through our shorter employability sessions, young people can understand career pathways and gain hands-on experience with creating and producing content and filming equipment. Our 3-day employability sessions are ideal for those who do not have any experience in the TV and Media industry but are interested in the sector. We will support young people to get hands-on experience and give them the foundation to understand the exciting career opportunities available in the sector.

We are constantly looking for new partners to deliver our work. If you have any questions, please get in touch with a friendly member of our team:
